Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame
David Moore made a habit of always setting the bar high during a standout baseball career that earned the third baseman induction into the Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame.
From setting single-season and career records, to graduating from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, or delivering care to a large, underserved population in rural central Washington, Moore models the important qualities every Linfield student-athlete should aspire to.
Statistically, Moore ranks first all-time at Linfield in three different career records: hits with 208, runs scored with 157, and times hit by a pitch at 51. He remains tied for third in four categories: RBIs (137), total bases (137), intentional walks (4), and sacrifices flies (13).
A first team Northwest Conference all-star over four straight seasons, Moore went on to be named to the NCAA West Region All-Tournament Team in 2004 and then the NCAA All-West Region Team in 2005. As a senior in 2005, he was presented with the Vern Marshall Award, honoring the Linfield student-athlete who displays the greatest tenacity.
Former Wildcats coach Scott Carnahan called Moore “the ultimate teammate and leader. David led by example and had a true passion for the game of baseball. I couldn’t be prouder of a former player both on and off the field.”
Moore was a key reason why Linfield won back-to-back Northwest Conference championships in 2004 and 2005.
After graduating from Linfield in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in biology and a minor in chemistry, Moore continued his education at the University of Washington School of Dentistry where he graduated from in 2013. Today, he operates his own dental practice in his hometown of Yakima and provides dental care to a large underserved population through Yakima Neighborhood Health, a community clinic on the outskirts of the city.
Moore also spends his time volunteering around his community including the Veterans Stand Down and Camp Primetime for the disabled.
He and his wife Lindsey are raising two children, Declan (2) and Trevor (8 months).
