RICHARDSON, Texas – Linfield closed out a two-game Texas road trip against UT Dallas on Sunday afternoon at the UTD Activity Center.
Gillyan Landis scored 10 points and
Ella Koebelin added eight, but the Comets came away with the 77-59 victory.
Linfield finished 39 percent from the field on 56 shot attempts. The Wildcats went 0-13 on three-point attempts in the first half but flipped the script in the second by finishing 9-10.
Amelia Solt and
Logan Roberts combined for 13 points off the bench.
Kaylee Schow and Burke tied for the lead in rebounds with five each.
UT Dallas had three scorers finish in double figures. Blythe Williams (16), Amanda Crowninshield (10) and Trystan Clark (10) paced the scoring for the Comets. UT Dallas finished 50 percent shooting from the field on 58 shots. The Comets tallied a 40-29 rebounding advantage and outscored the Wildcats 42-26 in points inside the paint.
The Comets soared to a double-digit lead in the opening quarter. UT Dallas shot nearly 48 percent on 17 shots to take an 18-6 lead. The Wildcats clawed back in the second quarter scoring 11 points and improving to 30 percent shooting from 18 in the first quarter.
UT Dallas built off a 30-17 halftime lead growing their advantage to as high as 24 in the third quarter. Roberts entered in the fourth quarter and knocked down two of Linfield's five total threes in the frame. The 'Cats came within 16 of UT Dallas behind 24 fourth-quarter points.
