Four 'Cats named CSC's Academic All-District

| By:
Eve Burke, Allie Mead, Amelia Solt and Miki Vermeulen recognized for academic and athletic excellence
College Sports Communicators (CSC) released their annual Academic All-District teams on Tuesday morning, naming four Linfield women's basketball student-athletes for the award: Eve Burke, Allie Mead, Amelia Solt and Miki Vermeulen.

The award is given to a maximum of four student-athletes per team in sophomore standing or older, who maintain a 3.50 or greater cumulative grade point average while also competing in at least 90% of the team's games.

Senior guard Eve Burke started all 26 games for the Wildcats this season, averaging 11.5 points per game on her way to First Team All-Northwest Conference honors. The Port Angeles, Washington, native majors in Business Management, where she plans to graduate with her degree this Spring.

"Being a student-athlete at Linfield has pushed me to work hard on and off the court. Having to balance school and basketball takes a lot of dedication and commitment." Said Burke.

The Northwest Conference Player of the Year, junior Allie Mead, records her second Academic All-District honor in her second year eligible. She's started all 52 games over the past two seasons with the Wildcats, while maintaining a 3.96 GPA in Finance. Mead aims to earn College Sports Communicator's Academic All-American honors, to be voted upon by Division III athletic communicators over the coming weeks.

Senior Journalism and Media Studies major, Amelia Solt, earned her third consecutive Academic All-District honor with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The Loveland, Colorado, native started all 52 games over the past two seasons, averaging over nine points per game and serving as one of Linfield's and the NWC's best three point shooters during her career. While competing on the team, Solt has also taken on the role as Sports Editor for The Linfield Review, an on-campus news source.

Senior guard/forward Miki Vermeulen rebounds with her second Academic All-District honor of her career, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA while studying Data Science. From Renton, Washington, Vermeulen earned the NWC's Defensive Player of the Year honors after ranking amongst the conference's best in rebounds, steals and blocks. When asked about what it means to be a student-athlete, Vermeulen said: "It means being able to balance academics while staying efficient on the court."

Wildcat women's basketball (22-4, 15-1 NWC) had a historic 2025-26 season, breaking records for wins and conference wins in a season, earning the NWC's Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and winning the program's first regular season title in 46 seasons.
