EUGENE, Ore. – Linfield was down by as much as 17 in the second half against Bushnell on Saturday night at the Morse Center. The 'Cats came within seven in the fourth quarter but couldn't get closer as the Beacons held on for the 59-46 win.
Ella Koebelin led the Wildcats offense with 15 points.
Behind Koeblin was
Janessa Yniguez with seven points while
Eve Burke and
Kaylee Schow each had six.
Miki Vermeulen grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. The Wildcats finished 30.5% from the field and 20.7% from three.
Bushnell finished with 34-24 points in the paint advantage. Aspen Slifka (16), Libby Mathis (14) and Ayden Krupke (10) paced the scoring for the Beacons.
The Beacons (2-2) scored eight of the first 10 points in the first quarter and held an 18-12 advantage at the end of the first 10 minutes. A 7-0 scoring run midway through the second quarter pushed the Bushnell as high as 16.
Linfield came into the third quarter down 13 after halftime. Bushnell continued to increase their advantage getting up by 17 nearly midway through the quarter.
Burke and Vermeulen brought Linfield as close as seven on multiple occasions in the fourth quarter. However, the Wildcats couldn't pull closer as Bushnell held off the late rally.

The 'Cats (0-2) travel to Texas for their next two games with the first coming on Nov. 18 against Austin College, followed by a meeting with UT Dallas on Nov. 19.
