McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Linfield men's soccer team got above .500 in Northwest Conference play for the first time this season, beating Pacific 1-0 Sunday afternoon at the Linfield Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.
The win completed a 2-0 week for the Wildcats, who stormed Newberg on Saturday to take down cross-county rival George Fox, also by a score of 1-0. It's the first time the 'Cats won back-to-back matches since the abbreviated spring 2021 season and the first back-to-back NWC wins since 2016.
Sid Kosaris was the difference-maker for Linfield. He notched his team-leading third goal of the season from the top of the box in the 15
th minute off an assist by
Evan Stafford. Kosaris registered a match-high five shots, four on goal. He leads the team with 16 shots on goal.
The 'Cats outshot the Boxers 17-11 with nine shots on goal. Ten of their shots came in the first half. The 'Cats also fired off six corner kicks to the Boxers' one.
Alberto Gallegos helped the Linfield attack apply pressure on the Boxer defense, finishing with three shots and one shot on goal.
Cameron Gaines,
Angel Hernandez and
Seamus Miller had two shots each.
Kosaris, Stafford, Hernandez,
Logan Clizer and
Nicholas Reggiani all played the full 90 minutes.
Henry Boudreaux made two saves in his 90 minutes in goal. He sits at an even 2-2-1 on the season with a pair of shutouts and a 1.82 goals against average.

Following a successful weekend, the 'Cats (3-5-1, 2-1-1 NWC) have surpassed their win totals from a season ago. They will need to keep their streak going on the road next week, playing at Whitman on Saturday and at Whitworth on Sunday. Both matches start at 2:30 p.m.
