WILMORE, Ky. – Linfield lacrosse clawed its way to a one-point victory against Centre on Monday to open the Spring Break trip to Kentucky. Wednesday's match was the complete opposite as the Wildcats scored 14 first-half goals en route to a 22-6 beating of Asbury at the Eagles' Lacrosse Field.
Maia Rezoski scored the first two goals of the match, unassisted, before Asbury's Grace Tatro tied it up at 2-2. The Wildcats scored three out of the last four goals of the opening quarter to go up 5-3. The 'Cats shut out the Eagles in the second quarter, going on a 9-0 run to take a 14-3 lead into halftime.
Tatro scored the first goal out of the break, but the 'Cats responded with five straight goals to end the quarter, two of those coming from Rezoski. Tatro put the Eagle attack on her back again in the fourth quarter, scoring back-to-back goals before
Amelia Wright put a stamp on the Linfield win by scoring the final three goals of the match.
Linfield outshot Asbury 34-11. Rezoski and Wright scored six goals apiece to lead all players. Wright finished with a match-high eight shots on goal while Rezoski had six.
Bethany Shade,
Josie Duey and
Abby Ross all scored three goals while
Maya Wright registered one. Shade had the only assist of the match for the 'Cats.
One of two goal scorers for Asbury, Tatro found the net five times on eight shots, seven on goal. Hannah Biegert scored the other goal for the Eagles.
Lizzy Harms improved to 4-2 in goal on the season after making two saves. She owns a 12.14 goals against average with a .328 save percentage and 42 saves.

Riding a three-match win streak, the 'Cats (4-4, 1-3 NWC) will wrap up their Kentucky road trip at Georgetown College on Thursday. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EDT at the Tigers' Toyota Stadium.
