EUGENE, Ore. – Rain and wind greeted Linfield athletes at Lane Community College in Saturday as they completed along with 15 other college track and field programs as well as a bevy of unattached athletes at the Lane Open.
Not surprisingly, the weather hampered the Wildcats' ability to post breakthrough performances.
WOMEN
Linfield's 4x100 relay, featuring
Rachelle Silis,
Paige Kasso,
Taylor Roles and
Jordan Hayes, took top honors in 50.96 seconds.
Jordan Roberts placed third among 12 challengers in the 100 hurdles in 16.46 while Natalia Freimuth ran to a 1:12.23 showing in the 400 hurdles to secure fourth place.
Kasso clocked 13.27 in the 100 to place eighth in the 100 dash and Silis was fourth in the 400 dash in 1:02.44.
In the field events,
Logan Roberts leaped 4-9 in the high jump to take fourth place while
Rylee McIntosh went 4-5 to place eighth in the same event.
Eboni Zehner tossed the javelin 95 feet, 8 inches to finish ninth.
MEN
Conner Dooley locked up fourth place in the 1,500 run in 4:04.49 and
Bradley Kiltow was fifth in the 3,000 steeplechase in 10:35.80.
The men's 4x100 relay, comprised of
Liam Christensen,
Luke Niemi,
Charles Dayton and
Jacob Tabares sprinted to a runner-up showing in 44.92 seconds.

With spring break on the horizon, only a select number of Wildcats will continue competing during the next 10 days. Select athletes who qualify will participate in the Oregon Preview meet Friday and Saturday at Eugene's Hayward Field. Multi-event athletes
Kira Hawaaboo and
Durham Huson are expected to travel to Santa Barbara, California, to compete in the Klein/Nwaba Combined Events March 24-25 on the campus of Westmont College.
