McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield lacrosse was off and running from the get-go to complete one of the most dominant victories in program history. The Wildcats defended their home turf in a 21-3 rout of Augsburg Thursday night at the Linfield Lacrosse and Soccer Complex.
Amelia Wright scored the first three goals of the match in less than two minutes into the contest. The Wildcats scored nine straight goals to open the game. They went on another streak between the second and third quarters, scoring 10 consecutive to down the Auggies.
Linfield's 21 goals, a feat accomplished six other times, is tied for the third-most in a single match in school history. The Wildcats' 42 shots are also tied for third on the all-time list.
Wright and
Abby Ross led the 'Cats with six goals apiece. Ross also dished out two assists and led the team with 11 shots, 10 on goal, to go with six draw controls.
Bethany Shade also had herself a night, scoring two goals and distributing five assists for the second time in her collegiate career. Her career-high is six assists, set against Willamette in 2021. Shade registered a match-high 11 draw controls.
Maia Rezoski,
Sydney Winters and
Josie Duey all contributed two goals while
Maya Wright notched one goal.
Lizzy Harms earned her second win of the season in goal after making five saves.
Shelby Ramirez's two goals and Maylynn Prokopec's one provided all the offense for the Auggies, who struggled to find ways to move the ball down to Linfield's side of the field.

The 'Cats (2-4, 1-3 NWC) will hit the road for Kentucky for matches at Centre, Asbury and Georgetown College during Spring Break. They will return to NWC action on April 2-3, hosting Whitman and Whitworth, respectively.
Linfield will host a neutral-site match between Augsburg (0-6, 0-0 MIAC) and Puget Sound (3-1, 2-1 NWC) at 5 p.m. on Friday.
