TACOMA, Wash. – Behind four goals each from
Bethany Shade and
Josie Duey, the Linfield Wildcats won 20-6 over the Puget Sound Loggers at Baker Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats are 6-3 on the season now with one more match left in the season, the Loggers fall to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
Shade scored two of the first four goals for Linfield to maintain a 4-2 advantage. Linfield went on an 8-3 run from that point to lead 12-5 at halftime.
Emma Vande Brake and
Maia Rezoski had three goals each in the first half.
Emma Robbins scored at the 14:04 in the second half to make it 16-6 and activate the running clock for the rest of the match.
Duey and Shade had two assists each as well, Robbins had three goals.
Jenna Hessel had two goals and two assists. Rezoski had four points: three goals and an assist. Shade caused two turnovers and Rezoski caused one.
The Wildcats picked up 16 groundballs in the match. Duey claimed five, Rezoski claimed four and both
Madison Hicks and
Elena Kroll picked up two each. Shade won nine draw controls, Duey won five and Rezoski won four.
Isabel Riser had two goals for Puget Sound. Lauren Mastin, Hayden Hotchkiss, Bee Bridge and Hannah Bushing had one each. Hotchkiss won four draw controls and Bridge won five.
In goal, Epi Roldan Rayo saved two shots, while UPS' Olivia Almy made 13 saves. Linfield had the 37-9 shot advantage.
Wildcats went 13 for 15 in clear attempts while the Loggers went 8 for 15.
