WHY LINFIELD? I wanted to go to a smaller school and I liked the idea of not being too far from my family.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete means getting to play the sport that I love while also having the main focus on my education. It also means getting to be a part of an awesome community at Linfield.
WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? I do not know what my career focus is at this point in time, but at Linfield, all psychology majors have to take a career class and hopefully that will help me figure it out!
WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD? I really enjoyed my senior seminar for psychology. We read chapter books instead of research articles, which was a refreshing change from other classes I had been taking. The class would then have meaningful and entertaining conversations about the books that made the three hours go by fast.
WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME…Hanging out with my friends and family and being outside.
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… The greatest lesson competing in athletics has taught me, besides time management, has been how to fail effectively. I’ve never been challenged so consistently as I have through Linfield athletics, whether it’s been on the field or in the weight room. I’m obviously not going to be successful in everything I do, but that’s where growth happens. Learning how to fail, take criticism and move on with a positive attitude has been beneficial to me and will continue to be in my future endeavors.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR LINFIELD CAREER THUS FAR? The highlight of my Linfield athletic career was scoring four goals against Whitman my freshman year. We knew it was going to be a tough game especially with it being our third game day in a row. It felt really good to end a hard week with a win.
AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... My goals are to get better and have fun while doing it. We strive to get better every day at practice, but a large reason why we’re all still playing lacrosse is because we enjoy it. I play much better and I think my team plays better as well when we’re in a good mood and having a good time.
