Wildcats win their third straight

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Surrendering five goals or less in three straight matches, the Linfield Wildcats downed the Pacific Boxers, 17-4 at Hanson Stadium on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
 
Linfield has won three straight and improves to 3-2 on the season, Pacific is now 0-5.
 
Bethany Shade scored the first goal of the match and she also led Linfield with five goals. Maia Rezoski was second on the team with four goals. Josie Duey, Emma Vande Brake, Emma Robbins and Jenna Hessel had two each.
 
Seven of the nine shots by Shade were on goal. She also won six draw controls. Rezoski won four and Duey won five. Shade caused two turnovers, while Rezoski, Vande Brake, Duey, Kaitlyn Crouser had one each.
 
In net, Epi Roldan-Rayo made two saves. The Boxers' Madyson Ivey made eight saves.
 
Hylan Cullen-Musengo was the Boxers' goals leader with three, Julien Dagan had the other goal. Linfield went 2 for 2 in clear attempts, Pacific went 9 for 11. Three Boxers and one Wildcat picked up yellow cards in the match.
 
Linfield has won its fifth straight meeting against Pacific and now trails in the all-time head to head, 19-10 with one more match this season.

Wildcats wrap up the season series against the Boxers on Sunday at 1 p.m. before returning home next weekend.
