SPOKANE, Wash. – Women's soccer (2-2-1, 0-2-0 NWC) was stifled by the Whitworth Pirates (2-2-0, 1-1-0 NWC) on Sunday, earning a 1-0 result to close out the road trip.Â
Whitworth scored the match's only goal in the 17th minute, sending Linfield into halftime facing a 1-0 deficit. The Wildcats responded by controlling more of the attacking opportunities after the break, recording six second-half corner kicks while limiting Whitworth to just two shots.
Tati Zahajko kept the Wildcats within a goal throughout the match, finishing with five saves. Her biggest stop came in the 60th minute when she denied a Whitworth penalty kick to preserve the one-goal margin.
Linfield finished even with Whitworth at nine shots apiece and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. The Wildcats were unable to get a shot on-target in the match.

Parker Vale each recorded two shots to lead the Wildcats, while
McKenzie Heckman,
Addie Eakin and
Amalie Anderson added one apiece.
Women's soccer returns home next Saturday, hosting the Lewis & Clark River Otters at 2:45 p.m., then heading to Newberg to play George Fox on Sunday.
