FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Senior
Gabby Crist scored six goals on Saturday at Pacific (3-1), but Linfield women's lacrosse (0-2) fell short 10-8 on the road.Â

Crist won the opening draw for Linfield, taking it into the offensive zone and scoring one-minute into the game to give the 'Cats their first lead of the game. Pacific answered with three shots of their own, scoring on the third with a free position shot to tie the game.

Nearly two minutes after the equalizer, Crist scored yet again, helping make up for
Heidi Schaefer's shot hitting the post. Linfield would not be able to find another shot over the final 7:56, meanwhile Pacific scored twice more to take a 3-2 lead after one quarter.

Linfield's
Alexa Brandt was the only 'Cat to take a shot in the second quarter, where he free position attempt was stopped by the Boxers keeper. Pacific scored three times before the half, leading 6-2.

Pacific's streak of six-unanswered goals came to an end in the third with Crist scoring her and the team's third goal of the game. The deficit grew to as many as 8-3 late in the third,
Apple Riso started the 'Cats come back with a free position goal. Crist ended the third with her fourth score, a man-up goal with 1:25 left.Â

Crist opened the final quarter with a score to keep the momentum rolling, leading to
Savannah Irwin slotting a free position goal to make it 8-7 Boxers with 10:36 to play. Both defenses stepped up for the majority of the quarter, later trading goals to make it 9-8.

Grayce Miller's game-tying shot hit off of the crossbar, the 'Cats final strike of the game. Pacific scored a man-up goal late to take the game, 10-8.

Crist's six scores was the most by any athlete, doing so on just seven shots. Both squads had nine shots on target, with the difference coming in the Boxers making five saves to the 'Cats two.Â

Women's lacrosse is back home this Wednesday at 5 p.m., hosting the Lewis & Clark River Otters.Â
