Collins records first career double-double in loss to Pacific

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – While the Wildcats fell short in their rematch against the Boxers 87-67 in Ted Wilson Gymnasium, sophomore guard Cade Collins highlighted the night as he recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

An 18-4 Pacific run out of the gates spelled disaster for Linfield as the Wildcats turned the ball over on four of their first eight possessions and struggled to find their offensive flow. The Boxers' full-court press gave Linfield issues throughout the contest and the team allowed 22 points off of 13 turnovers compared to nine Linfield points off of seven Pacific turnovers.

After being outscored 48-31 in the first half, the Wildcats battled throughout the second half, at one point closing the gap to 14 after an impressive 12-2 run midway through the period. Pacific came back with a 9-2 run of its own and held onto the lead down the stretch.

Collins and Garrett Callsen led the way in scoring for Linfield with 13 points apiece and Callsen added two rebounds and a block. Cayden Lowenbach was the third Wildcat in double figures with 12 points and pulled down six boards in 18 minutes off the bench.

Junior Logan Morill provided a solid performance off the bench with six points and going a perfect 3-of-3 from the field.

All five Pacific starters reached double figures Saturday night with Jake Blazona leading the way at 18. Devin Fortune tallied 17 points to go along with 11 rebounds in a standout game and Anthony Hrboka added 16.
