Linfield uses red-hot shooting in domination over Willamette

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield got back in the win column with a commanding 97-76 victory over Willamette on Saturday afternoon at Ted Wilson Gymnasium. The Wildcats dominated throughout the game, leading for 36 minutes and taking control early after Josh Ryan's three-pointer sparked a 10-0 run in the first half. The run helped Linfield build a comfortable lead, which it would never relinquish.
 
In total, the Wildcats displayed sharp shooting, converting 50% of their three-point attempts (9-of-18). Their efficiency from beyond the arc, combined with disciplined defense, allowed them to maintain control of the game. Linfield capitalized on 14 Willamette turnovers, scoring 22 points off those mistakes. The Wildcats also moved the ball well, recording an season-high 27 team assists.
 
Cade Collins led the way offensively, finishing with a game-high 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. He also contributed six rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes of action. Garrett Callsen added an impressive performance with 20 points and six rebounds. Josh Ryan provided an offensive spark with 11 points, including two three-pointers and three assists. Max Juhala played the role of distributor for the Wildcats, totaling eight assists to go along with 10 points.
 
In the second half, Linfield continued to control the game, outscoring Willamette 44-39. The team's defense remained strong, limiting Willamette to just 39.7% shooting from the field. Linfield's bench also played a key role, tallying 26 points, including 11 from Cayden Lowenbach, who also grabbed 5 rebounds.
 
The Bearcats were led by Josiah Frank who put up 20 points and drained four shots from behind the arc. D'Ante Dean and Anujan Tennathur each added 13 points with Tennathur also notching eight rebounds.
 
The victory improves Linfield's record to 6-9 overall and 3-3 in the Northwest Conference, while Willamette falls to 6-8 and 0-6 in conference play.
