MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield women's tennis (1-2) took its first home loss of the season on Sunday, falling 7-2 to the Cal Lutheran Regals (3-2) in Rutschman Fieldhouse.

DOUBLES
The Wildcats got one of their two wins of the day in the No. 2 doubles flight as the junior/freshman pair of
Alexis Garner and Kaitlyn Canubida earned their second win of the season with an 8-5 victory over Cal Lutheran's Madison Ford and Kylee Limpias.

In the top doubles contest
Sarah Forester and
Emma Tuttle fell 8-5 to Mina Ahmadi and Mari Carmen Bufkin, while the Regals' No. 3 duo of Gerda Jucys and Kayla Kling beat
Lisa Ponti and
Samantha Baltz 8-1 to set Cal Lutheran in front 2-1 heading into singles.

SINGLES
Linfield's lone singles win came in the No. 2 match as Tuttle outlasted Ford in three sets. After falling in the first, Ford responded with a 7-6 win with a 10-5 tiebreak before Tuttle managed to stave her off in the first-to-10 points third set to win 6-4, 6-7 (5-10), 10-7.

Forester faced a tough task in the top flight against Bufkin, with the Cal Lutheran top-seed winning 6-2, 6-1, while Canubida fell in the No. 3 match to Fatima Nemi 6-4, 6-2.

In the No. 4 flight Ahmadi clinched the win for the match for the Regals at 5-2 with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Garner.
Baltz showed a strong response in her second set against Limpias, but was eventually outlasted in her attempt to force a third frame, Limpias winning 6-1, 7-5.

In the final match Ponti started strong with a 6-4 win over Cal Lutheran's Anya Rajan but ultimately lost in the third set on a 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 win for Rajan.

Linfield begins Northwest Conference competition on Saturday, March 2 at Willamette (0-3) before hosting George Fox (2-1) on Sunday. Both matches are slated to begin at 11:00 AM.
