WHAT ARE THE REASONS YOU CHOSE TO ATTEND LINFIELD? I chose to attend Linfield because of the welcoming community atmosphere. Having a welcoming school makes me feel comfortable walking into Linfield with open arms. I come from a small, private Catholic high school and felt safe and comfortable. Linfield has that same feeling. I also chose Linfield because the academic rigors appeared to best fit my academic needs to help me to reach my future goals in the field of exercise science.

WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU? It means I'm expected to fulfill the responsibilities of both an athlete and a student. I must play a competitive intercollegiate sport while maintaining my academics. I also get to represent my school during the tennis season and in other school activities. I may not be the strongest or tallest person, but I want to be a role model to other tennis players and show them that playing college tennis is possible.

HOW WAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON? Sport teaches me to focus on my own talents and abilities rather than those of my opponents. I can focus on myself and doing that helps me to develop a better mental mind. I believe that having a good mental mindset helps you through the long run in life. Tennis taught me that the process is more important than the outcome.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? I see myself working as an athletic trainer or a physical therapist. I would also give back to my community by taking care of anyone who needs help with their body and helping them get back to living their lives. Giving back makes me feel good and enables me to improve the lives of those closest to you, including your family members, neighbors, and others all around the world. Giving back to the community and finding significance in it benefits you as much as others.

WHAT'S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU'VE TAKEN AND WHY? The best class I took at Linfield was human biology. This class helped me extend my knowledge about the human body. Since I'm majoring in exercise science I need to know about the basics of the body. The professor was passionate about what she was talking about. She made me feel confident about this course.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My greatest inspiration is my family. I couldn't choose a specific person because my family helped me through everything. From school to tennis, they always supported me in everything I did.

THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I'VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... The greatest principle I learned while competing is, "It doesn't matter about winning or losing, as long as you show good sportsmanship, I'm winning." Sportsmanship is the biggest principle on our team because it says a lot about one person and team.

AS A LINFIELD-STUDENT ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... My goal as an individual is to play at my highest level possible. I want to show my talent to all the schools where we compete. I also want to complete my major to become physical therapist. My goal for my team is to set a good standard for the incoming students. I want us to play at their best and fight hard for everything!
