Linfield women's tennis was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Wednesday for excellence in the classroom. Five Wildcats maintained a minimum of a 3.50 grade point average, earning Scholar-Athlete honors and leading the way for an All-Academic Team honor.

Junior from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Samantha Baltz earned six singles wins and a trio of doubles victories alongside teammate Kaitlynn Canubida this season. Baltz is majoring in mathematics as she enters her senior campaign.

A Jacksonville, Oregon native, sophomore Lilianna Cano captured Scholar Athlete honors for the first time in her career. Cano is a biology major, recently completing her first season as a Wildcat student-athlete while leading the team with a 3.97 GPA.

Sundi King is a double-major in international business and Spanish, finishing her sophomore season at Linfield. King is a native of Kihei, Hawaii, often competing alongside freshman Gianna Molony in doubles.

Sophomore nursing major Elise Reese captured her first Scholar Athlete honor in her sophomore season, coming to Linfield from Philomath, Oregon. Steffenie Stark is the lone Wildcat freshman to earn the academic honor, majoring in digital arts.

As a team, the Wildcats maintained a 3.41 grade point average, capturing another All-Academic Team honor by the ITA. Linfield women's tennis returns a full roster that aims to compete in the Fall at the ITA Fall Championships in September, serving as a partial host for the tournament.
