Hammock's 20 kills lead 'Cats in four-set loss to Bruins

NEWBERG, Ore. – Linfield swiped the third set but fell in four in an 18-25, 20-25, 25-22, 14-25 loss to George Fox Saturday night at Wheeler Sports Center.

The loss wrapped up a three-match week for the Wildcats, who lost in straight sets to Division II Saint Martin's on Tuesday before beating Pacific Lutheran on Friday, marking their first win over the Lutes since 2016.

Linfield amassed 44 kills, six aces, 38 assists, 69 digs and four blocks. Raelynn Hammock posted a monster statline with 20 kills and 14 digs. It was the third time this season that she registered 20 or more kills. Her season high is 25 kills, set in the Wildcats' season-opening win over New England College on Sept. 2.

Marina Erosa notched double figures in both kills (10) and digs (13). The 13 digs are a season high. Megan Stanek added five kills. Paige Richards' 22 digs led the 'Cats while Aylea Dixon had 35 assists. Dixon has dished out 30 or more assists in eight of the team's 11 matches.

Bailey LeBreton carried the Bruin attack with 16 kills on a .406 hitting percentage. Kassandra Staton wasn't far behind with 10 kills and 15 digs. Taylor Dekoning added eight kills and 13 digs.
