TACOMA, Wash. – Linfield shut out Puget Sound in the second half but fell 3-0 to the Loggers to open Northwest Conference play Saturday afternoon at Baker Stadium.
Radhika Webster Schultz got the Loggers off to a solid start with a goal in the sixth minute off an assist by Layla Santos. Ava Cholakian had herself a two-goal match, scoring unassisted in the 25
th minute before striking again in the 35
th on a penalty kick. Cholakian amassed seven shots, two on goal, in 77 minutes played.
Linfield totaled two shots and five corner kicks.
Emily Hyde and
Izzy Chauls were the two players responsible for firing off the two shots. Neither landed on goal. Hyde and
Megan Sweeney played the full 90 minutes on the pitch.
Emilee Miller played the entire match in goal, allowing the three goals. She's 2-2-1 on the season with a 1.68 goals against average.
