Abi Proffitt and
Katrina Johns drove in three runs each, powering No. 20 Linfield to a nonconference doubleheader sweep of Pomona-Pitzer Sunday afternoon at Wig Beach Field.

Linfield won the opening contest 9-1 in a game shortened to five innings by the eight-run rule. The Wildcats outlasted the Sagehens 11-5 in the second game.

Proffitt went 3 for 6 with a double and Johns went 2 for 5 with a run scored to pace the Wildcats.

Katie Phillips,
Baily Paul and
Kaili Saathoff all had two hits each as the Wildcats rolled up 11 hits in Sunday's opener.

Mobley had three RBIs and scored twice.

Tayah Kelley pitched the Wildcats to victory, scattering three hits and striking out seven Sagehens.

Linfield built a 9-0 lead before Pomona-Pitzer notched an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth inning to avert the shutout.

Jacey Leyvas launched their first career home runs to lead the Wildcats to a lopsided win in the nightcap.

Pomona-Pitzer jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Linfield tied the game in the second on Seats' two-run homer.

The Wildcats trailed 3-2 until the sixth inning when they exploded for seven runs, including a two-run blast by Leyvas. Kaathoff and
Katrina Johns also drove in runs in the game's decisive inning.

Hailey Wadsworth went the full seven innings in the circle, earning her first career victory. Wadsworth struck out three and walked a pair of batters while yielding five hits.

Linfield (3-1) makes its home debut with a weekend series against the Willamette Bearcats. The Northwest Conference twinbill starts at noon on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.
