WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD? My favorite class I have taken at Linfield was Animal Development. In lecture, we spent most of our class periods designing experiments and working in small groups, which was definitely more entertaining than to just be lectured at for an hour. Labs were the best part of the class. We got to do heart surgeries on developing chicks, wprk with sea urchins and do a ton of microdissection on fruit flies. This class was very interesting and Dr. Catherine Reinke is one of my favorite professors.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? One of my greatest inspirations is my mom. She is the kindest, most supportive person that I have ever known. My mom has always supported me in everything I do, almost never misses a game and is there for me whenever I need her. She is the most positive person in the world and the best mom I could ever ask for. I know I can always count on her for a positive outlook or some advice. I hope that I can someday be as good of a mom, friend and person as she is.

WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME…Making stickers and selling them on Redbubble, hanging out with my friends and watching movies.

THE GREATEST LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… I can do anything if I am committed and work hard. Although at times I have been spread thin with an intense softball schedule and difficult academic schedule, I’ve found ways to get through and excel at both. Jackson has always emphasized that to succeed in the way we want to, we need to commit and hold ourselves to a standard of excellence. This lesson will stay with me throughout the rest of my life as I pursue medical school and eventually a career as a doctor.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR LINFIELD CAREER THUS FAR? The highlight of my career was hosting super regionals at Del Smith Stadium my freshman year! Those were the most fun softball games of my life because the energy was amazing! I feel so blessed to have gotten to be on the field in that environment.

AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... Going into my senior season, my goal is to do whatever is needed of me that we can be excellent. I want to enjoy this last season with all of my best friends. For this team, I have the same goals as always: Regular season NWC champions, NWC tournament champions and eventually national champions. This team really has a shot, and I’m ready to go out there and compete.
