WHY LINFIELD? When looking into school options, Linfield stood out to me with the culture and atmosphere it provides for its student-athletes both in and out of the classroom. The professors are personable and are willing to assist students in whatever way possible, making resources for success readily available whenever needed.

WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE MEAN TO YOU? Being a student-athlete at Linfield means that there are values that you obtain from being an athlete that benefit your life as a student and teach you deeper understanding of how to succeed not only in school, but in life. The lessons we learn as athletes here prepare us to be better athletes, students, friends, adults, significant others, and coworkers. It instills values that are applicable to all facets of our personal lives, giving us something more than just being student-athletes.

WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? I came from a one-stoplight town with a population of only about 800 people and only graduated with about 100 friends. The opportunity to leave such a small place and do bigger things, such as playing sports in school, is a very limited opportunity.

WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? I strive to pursue a career in the sports industry and with the education provided by Linfield, I am able to further the depth of knowledge I have in the field as well as getting prepared for other experiences outside of the work place.

WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD? Sport Analytics. It was the most interesting class as it gave us a way to look at sports from a different point of view and be able to create our own analytics of specific sport outcomes. As an athlete who is pursuing a career involving sports, this class opened up more doors for future possible career paths that are less commonly known about.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My cousin has been my biggest inspiration since I was young. He was the one who made me play softball in the first place, eventually causing me to fall in love with the sport. I grew up playing front-yard baseball with him while getting to watch him during his high school and collegiate career. He happens to also be one of the reasons I wear No. 12.

WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME… Bow hunting, riding dirtbikes and working out.

THE GREATEST LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… Do one thing the way you do everything, because you leave your mark on whatever you do. It involves doing the little things with purpose and making sure you hold yourself to a higher standard every day.

AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... To be the best leader possible to help my team win a national championship.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR LINFIELD CAREER THUS FAR? The highlight of my career was hosting the super regionals my freshman year and the atmosphere was unmatched.
