McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield capped off the game with its best quarter of the night, but the Wildcats fell 66-50 to the Redlands Bulldogs Friday at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
The Wildcats shot 46.67 percent from the field on their way to scoring 17 points in the first quarter. They finished stronger than they started, scoring 18 in the fourth period on 63.64 percent shooting. Linfield outscored Redlands by seven points in the fourth quarter, but it was too late to stage a 23-point comeback. The Linfield bench put up 23 points while the Wildcats outscored the Bulldogs 28-26 in the paint.
Gillyan Landis scored in double figures for the third time in four games this season. She went 4 for 12 from the field with 11 points, three rebounds and a block.
Jordan Worthington added eight points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 14 minutes off the bench. The senior made 75 percent of her shots while making both attempts at the free throw line.
Alexis Heald shot 60 percent in the game, contributing six points and a team-high six rebounds while Paige LaFountain led all players with five assists. Ella Koebelin and Miki Vermeulen were responsible for the Wildcats' two three-pointers.
Redlands went 45.3 percent from the field while making 5 of 7 from three-point range. The Bulldogs were a perfect 3 for 3 from beyond the arc in the first quarter and then went off for 21 points in the third.
Four of the Bulldogs' five three-pointers came out of the hands of Alyssa Downs, who knocked down all four of her attempts while going 7 for 9 from the field to drop a game-high 18 points. Downs added two rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal to her performance. Julia Balestreri scored 10 points and added six rebounds while Chyanne Pagkalinawan and Hannah Jerrier had nine points apiece. Jerrier grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and swiped four steals.

Linfield (2-3) can get back to the .500 mark next week as Northwest Conference play opens. The 'Cats will host George Fox at 6 p.m. Friday before playing at Pacific at 4 p.m. Saturday.
