SALEM, Ore. – A three-goal second half allowed the No. 7 Willamette Bearcats to run away with a 4-1 win over the Linfield Wildcats Sunday afternoon at Sparks Field.

Pierce Gallaway and Abdul Ali carried Willamette offensively. Gallaway notched his sixth goal of the season in the 29
th minute to put the Bearcats on the board. Ali scored goals in the 51
st and 79
th minutes. Gallaway was credited with an assist on both plays. Fernando Bitelli also picked up an assist on Ali's first goal.

The third goal for Willamette came in the 60
th minute on an own goal by Linfield. The Bearcats amassed 29 shots, 14 landing on goal, while adding 13 corner kicks to Linfield's three.

Sid Kosaris scored unassisted in the 76
th minute for his team-leading fifth goal of the season. He shot the ball from 25 yards out, firing it into the lower left corner of the net. Kosaris leads Linfield with 11 points and 18 shots on goal.

Gallaway and Sean Kim each got off a match-high five shots for Willamette while Julian Rivas Delgado had four shots off the bench. Five Bearcats, including Gallaway and Kim, registered two shots on goal.

The Wildcats finished with three shots and two shots on goal. Two of those shots came in the first half.
Marques Herrera-Kuehn had the other two shots for Linfield, one landing on goal. He came off the bench to contribute 57 minutes.
Angel Hernandez and
Nicholas Reggiani played the full 90.

Henry Boudreaux made a season-high 11 saves in the loss, bringing his season total to 36. He's 3-4-1 in goal with a 2.00 goals against average.

The 'Cats (4-7-1, 3-3-1 NWC) open the second half of Northwest Conference play next weekend against the same eastern Washington teams they played a week ago. They will host Whitworth on Saturday before playing Whitman on Sunday. Both matches will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Linfield Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.
