Oregon Tech back line dominant in shutout of 'Cats

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield struggled to create opportunities as the Wildcats dropped a 3-0 match to Oregon Tech on Sunday.

The Owls outshot the Wildcats 28-4 with 16 shots on goal while the 'Cats finished with two shots on goal. The OIT goalkeepers combined for just two saves in the shutout thanks to a strong back line.

Amanda Seward got the Owls on the board in the ninth minute off an assist from Brianna Lewis. Nyah Kendall scored the second goal in the 31st after taking the ball all the way up the field and finding an opening.

The third goal for the Owls was an uncredited team goal in the 60th minute off a corner kick that deflected off of Linfield senior goalkeeper Alyssa Bakkensen.

Junior forward Laney Green registered two of the 'Cats' four shots while senior midfielder Laura Hoover and junior midfielder Ava Dumler each had a shot on goal.

Bakkensen played all 90 minutes in goal for the 'Cats, finishing the match with 13 saves.
