Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Wildcats fall 3-0 to Pioneers at home

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Lewis & Clark took a two-goal lead into halftime and never looked back, shutting out the Linfield women's soccer team 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Celeste Schreifels led the Pioneers offensively with a goal and an assist. She opened the scoring in the 11th minute, scoring off a free kick from 40 yards out by Alexa Myers. Myers was credited with the assist. Schreifels then assisted on Becca McCullough's goal in the 27th.
 
Sasha Raimondo wrapped up the scoring in the 67th off an assist by Brecklyn Beighle. Raimondo and Beighle each finished with two shots while Elsa Horsted led the Pioneers with three shots, one on goal.
 
The Pioneers totaled 12 shots and six shots on goal to the Wildcats' eight shots and five shots on goal. Six of the 'Cats' eight shots came in the second half.
 
Freshman Kami Echiverri and junior Laney Green led the Wildcats with two shots apiece. Both of Echiverri's shots were on goal. Sophomore Ellie Friedrichsen and senior Ashley Guldager played the entire 90 minutes to anchor the back line.
 
Senior Alyssa Bakkensen played all 90 minutes in goal for the 'Cats. She finished with three saves. Bakkensen owns a .780 save percentage and a 2.45 goals against average this fall.
 
NEXT
Linfield is 1-4-1 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play. The 'Cats will close a seven-match homestand on Saturday, hosting Pacific Lutheran at noon. They will hit the road for the first time on Sunday, playing at George Fox, also at noon.
 
LINFIELD COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
All individuals (age 12 and over) entering any athletics venue must provide proof of vaccination along with photo identification. Since all Linfield faculty, staff and students have completed this task in order to be on campus this fall, the Linfield individual must simply show their current Linfield ID.
 
Masks must be worn by all spectators at all times. Participants, including players, coaches, support staff and media on the sidelines, must wear masks throughout the duration of all athletic events, both indoor and outdoor, and during pregame and postgame activities.
