NEWBERG, Ore. – A handful of Linfield Wildcats competed at the final regular meet of the 2019 outdoor season on Thursday, participating in the George Fox Final Qualifier at Stoffer Family Stadium on the GFU campus. 
 
Senior Cody Mitchell achieved a mark of 46 feet, 11¾ inches (14.32 meters) in the shot put while Matt Metcalf tossed the javelin 183-10 (56.04m).
 
Dallin Buck leaped 21-0 (6.40m) on his first attempt in the long jump but could do no better in his remaining attempts.
 
Keaton Wood competed in four events in preparation in the decathlon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. Wood crossed the line in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.36 followed by tossing the discus 117-0 (35.67m).  He then leapt 20-7 ¾ (6.29m) in the long jump before finishing his day by clearing 13-5¾ (4.11m) in the pole vault.

Qualifying Wildcats will travel to Geneva, Ohio, May 23-25 for the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships.  The championships will be held at the outdoor facility on the Spire Institute sports complex campus.
