WOMEN
PUGET SOUND (6-8, 1-4 NWC) VS. LINFIELD (6-8, 2-2 NWC)
TIPOFF AT 4 P.M.
After a late night showing Friday night in Portland against Lewis & Clark, the 'Cats return home today to face a usual power in the NWC, the Puget Sound Loggers.
A surprising 1-4 start to the conference schedule has the Loggers stressing for wins. Puget Sound sits at 6-8 following a 10-point loss at Pacific Friday night.
Leading the NWC with nearly 17 points per night, the Loggers will lean on Jamie Lange to carry the club inside the House of Hustle. The Wildcats have found a gem in transfer guard
Kory Oleson whose 14.1 points per game leads the team. Oleson has scored in double digits in each of her last six games.
Linfield has lost just two games by 10 or more points this season, hanging close with nearly every opponent. The Loggers have lost four of their last five games, including a 82-57 drubbing at the hands of George Fox.
Both teams struggle to take care of the basketball. Linfield averages more than 20 turnovers a night while the Loggers average just over 19. Whichever team makes an emphasis of being cautious with the basketball could pull away with the lead late.
Former Linfield player and coach Casey Kushiyama returns to face his alma mater for the first time as the Loggers head coach. Puget Sound looks to earn a monumental win in support of Kushiyama's homecoming.
