After factoring into both of Linfield's goals over the weekend, Linfield's Ivan Colin was chosen as the Northwest Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced Monday following a vote of the league's sports information directors.
Colin scored the game winner and assisted on the insurance goal as Linfield snapped a two-match losing streak with a big 2-0 road victory against rival Willamette. He took two shots, one on goal, in the Wildcats' only match of the week.
Those were the first points of the season for Colin, who has totaled six goals and three assists over his career. He has started 12 of 13 matches this season, logging 719 of a possible 1,180 minutes.
With the win against the Bearcats, the Wildcats improved to 7-6 overall, including 3-4 in NWC contests. Linfield hosts back-to-back home matches against Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran, beginning Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
