Wildcat Weekly: February 3, 2026

Linfield athletics enters into February with spring on the horizon, beginning with men's and women's tennis opening their seasons this weekend with the women's team hosting College of Idaho on campus on Saturday morning. 
 
MEN'S WRESTLING
Linfield men's wrestling competes in a pair of duals this week, coming off of a 1-1 dual record a week ago, highlighted by a win over Southwestern Oregon CC on senior night. The Wildcats will compete in their first-ever FloWrestling Night in America on Thursday, taking on the Idaho Vandals in Tualatin. Linfield hits the road once again on Saturday evening, squaring off against  Southern Oregon in Ashland at 7 p.m.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Linfield women's basketball's (16-2, 9-0 NWC) returns after ten days off just over the halfway point in the Northwest Conference slate. Now receiving votes in the D3Hoops.com national poll, the Wildcats remain the top squad in the NWC, boasting a perfect 9-0 record, the best in program history. Amelia Solt led the 'Cats to a home win last week, defeating the Pacific Boxers for the season sweep, maintaining a two-game lead on the Loggers and Blues in the standings. Heading to Eastern Washington for the weekend, the 'Cats face a tough test in taking down the Blues in Walla Walla on Saturday, hoping to sweep the reigning conference champions this season.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Linfield men's basketball (7-10, 5-4 NWC) also enjoyed the last ten days without competition, gearing up for a push towards the Northwest Conference Men's Basketball Tournament in four weeks. The 'Cats find themselves sitting in fourth-place in the NWC standings entering the road trip to the Whit's, set to take on the No. 1 and No. 8 teams in the conference. Just one game separates Linfield from the No. 2 spot, and just two and a-half games out of eighth, in a tight race to return to the NWC postseason for the first time in three seasons. Linfield is set for a tough test against the Whitworth Pirates in Spokane, having dropped the first meeting earlier this season, but look to earn the season sweep of the Blues, a team they upset in the final seconds a month ago.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Linfield women's tennis hosts their home opener on Saturday morning, welcoming in the College of Idaho for the Wildcats first tennis broadcast on FloSports. Following the 'Cats home debut, they head to Portland for an exhibition with the Portland State Vikings on Sunday.

MEN'S TENNIS
Linfield men's tennis sees their season begin on the road, heading to Boise, Idaho, to face the Boise State Broncos and Idaho Vandals in a pair of matches to begin the season.
