A new era for Linfield baseball in 2026

By Chase Fisk, Director of Athletic Communications

Linfield baseball is set to embark on a new era under the leadership of first-year head coach Jordan Harlow in 2026. Following nine seasons as the Wildcat's assistant coach or associate head coach, Harlow brings national championship experience as a three-time varsity letterman and First Team All-Conference honoree during his playing days as a Wildcat.

The new coaching staff retains a team that finished fourth in the Northwest Conference last season, going 24-18 overall and 13-11 in NWC play.

The Wildcats said farewell to six frequent starters from the 2025 roster that led the charge in snapping a two-year drought of missing out on the postseason. The new era welcomes in 11 freshman and a handful of transfer student-athletes aiming to make a postseason bid the standard once again.

It's been a blessing to have been the assistant coach, as now I look at things through a new lens in wearing the head-coaching cap, so to speak.

Junior Infielder #33 Luke Porter

A Second Team All-Northwest Conference honoree in 2025, infielder and designated hitter Luke Porter returns for his junior season. The Paradise Valley, Arizona, native led the Wildcats with 12 home runs last season, driving in 41 runs and slugging .687. Porter figures to be a mainstay at designated hitter this season, picking up some reps at first base at times as well.

A utility player, Josh Mansur started 40 games for Linfield in 2025, hitting .294 and stealing a team-high seven bases.

“Mansur is a guy we're really excited about… he got some time in the outfield this Fall, but can also make an appearance on the mound. Having his innings back will be huge for us.”

Junior Pitcher #40 Zack Hampson

On the mound, junior Zack Hampson joins Colton Oullette as Wildcat pitchers looking to step into larger roles on the mound, each making 17+ appearances out of the bullpen in 2025.

“[Zack] is a guy that's proven to pound the zone and be a reliable guy out of the pen.”

With the nature of the college game, there's always an opportunity for someone to step up and take the reins.

From the portal, Linfield welcomes a wealth of Division I playing experience in infielders Cole Hubka and Ely Kennel. Hubka enters his junior season as a Wildcat by way of Texas A&M Corpus Christi, as well as Utah, while Kennel brings experience as a member of both the Oregon State and Washington State University baseball teams. Junior College transfers Jaxson Kister and Spencer Kowalski also enter their first years at the NCAA level in 2026.
