Wildcat Weekly: January 27, 2026

| By:
The week of events kicks off on Tuesday evening, where men's and women's hoops enjoys just one game this week, hosting the Pacific Boxers in a doubleheader, with Linfield cheer & dance hosting Young Cats Club Night beginning at 4 p.m. Wrestling will see their last bit of competition at home on Friday night, hosting Southwestern Oregon CC for senior night prior to the duals. Track & Field continues the indoor season, taking on the Inland Northwest Invational hosted by NWC-rival Whitworth on Saturday.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Linfield women's basketball's (15-2, 8-0 NWC) historic, record-breaking, season continues to reach new heights. The 'Cats have now entered uncharted territory with their best start in program history and remain at the top of the Northwest Conference standings, two-games up on the Puget Sound Loggers. Having won 11-straight contests, the 'Cats are primarily led by senior guard Eve Burke, who averaged 14.5 points per-game and 8.5 rebounds per-game last weekend. Although, production comes from up and down the bench, where any of the Wildcats could lead the team on any given night, proving Linfield's depth is the best in the Northwest.

The match-up:
Tuesday, January 27 | 5:30 p.m. |  Ted Wilson Gymnasium
Vs Pacific (8-9, 3-5 NWC)

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Linfield men's basketball (7-9, 5-3 NWC) has earned the nickname "Cardiac 'Cats" as they've now won each of their five Northwest Conference games by six points or less, thanking to three last-second wins. Junior forward Garrett Callsen provided his second game-winner of the season on Saturday, sinking a pair of free throws to put Linfield ahead of Lewis & Clark, 72-71, on the road. Riding a two-game winning streak, the 'Cats moved into a tie for third in the NWC standings, looking to avenge a 75-50 loss to Pacific back in December.

WRESTLING
Linfield men's and women's wrestling split last Friday's dual at the Evergreen Aviation Museum against Treasure Valley CC, but found much success in Sunday's Boxer Open where junior Ethan Ensrud claimed his third 197-pound tournament title of the season. The 'Cats will honor seven members of their first senior class since wrestling was reintroduced as a varsity sport back in 2022, this Friday night in a dual against Southwestern Oregon CC. On Saturday, the men's team turns back around, taking on Corban in a dual in Salem the next evening.
