Linfield volleyball, men's soccer, and women's soccer see their first mid-week action this week, all hosting the Willamette Bearcats at home on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Cross country, football, and women's golf join the rest of the Fall sports teams competing on the road throughout the weekend.
Wildcat women's soccer continues to roll through the early goings of Northwest Conference play, remaining unbeaten following an 1-0-1 weekend against Whitman and Whitworth. The defense stood out for men's soccer in a pair of one-score games last weekend, still aiming to grab their first win of the season. Volleyball hosted a pair of their first home games in the
Jenna Street era, falling to conference-leading Whitworth in five sets, before knocking off Whitman in four. Women's tennis capped off their Fall schedule in Newberg, Oregon, competing in the Fall ITA Championships. Cross country and football return to action this weekend after each enjoyed a week-off.
VOLLEYBALL
The 'Cats (4-4, 2-1 NWC) are back inside Ted Wilson Gymnasium tonight, hosting Willamette at 7 p.m.
Nora Myre continues to shine for Linfield, getting it done offensively and defensively.
Naia Alefaio-Foifua and
Madison Millard also have provided crucial defensive efforts, as Alefaio-Foifua ranks fourth in the NWC in digs per set, and Millard is second in blocks per set. The team heads to Washington for the first time this season, taking on Pacific Lutheran on Friday night, and undefeated Puget Sound on Saturday. The upcoming slate features some of the best competition the Wildcats will see in conference play, looking to move up in the standings.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Linfield women's soccer (5-0-3, 3-0-1 NWC) remains undefeated through the first eight games of the season. Their longest unbeaten streak since 2013 when the team began the season with eight-straight wins. Tied atop the conference standings, the Wildcats are in the heart of a busy schedule that features eight games in 18 days. Senior defender
Jenna Stanley kept the streak alive with a second-half header off of a corner kick against Whitman to earn a 1-1 draw against Whitman. Stanley's efforts offensively and defensively earned her the team's first NWC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Now, the Wildcats host Willamette on Wednesday night before heading to Tacoma, Washington, to take on the two schools who are also 3-0-1 in conference play this season.

MEN'S SOCCER
Linfield men's soccer (0-8-0, 0-4-0 NWC) is yet to find their stride offensively, but the defense has been a bright spot for the Wildcats, holding opponents to just one score in each match last weekend.
Evan Stafford and
Oliver Blanchard has notched the two goals for Linfield this season, with the last coming against Willamette, who the Wildcats host on Wednesday night. The Tacoma trip sets up to be two battles against two of the top-three teams in the conference standings early in the season.

WOMEN'S GOLF
Linfield women's golf competed alongside men's golf at the PLU Invitational early this week, finishing third in the field, and were led by freshman
Kariss Whitford who carded a top-ten finish. In each of the first two events this Fall, the 'Cats lineup has been made up of first year student-athletes. The team competes again in just four days, travelling to North Plains, Oregon, for the Pacific Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.

FOOTBALL
Linfield football held their second bye week of the season last weekend ahead of the start of the Northwest Conference slate. After going 1-1 in non-conference play, and earning a come-from-behind win over Chapman a pair of weeks ago, the Wildcats will look to keep the momentum rolling into Newberg against the George Fox Bruins (0-3).
Cade Johannsen remains as the conference's reigning Special Teams Athlete of the Week, and continues to lead Division III in yards per punt average.
