NEWBERG, Ore. - A three-run ninth inning sealed the deal for Linfield as the Wildcats topped George Fox 8-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Morse Field.
The Wildcats put together a complete team effort, racking up 10 hits while keeping the Bruins off balance on the mound.
Josh Mansur delivered an early blow, lacing a two-run single to get Linfield's on the board, finishing 2-for-4 with four RBI and two stolen bases.
Nick Holm and
Elijah Maris each crossed the plate three times, with Maris contributing a pair of hits, including a double.
Rylan Gullard added two RBI, and
Luke Porter provided key support off the bench, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and a hit-by-pitch.
Linfield set the tone early, scoring twice in the first inning before George Fox clawed back with a run in the fourth. The Wildcats answered with runs in the fifth, seventh and ninth innings, keeping steady pressure on the Bruins' pitching staff.

Gavin Ludlow gave Linfield two scoreless innings, allowing one walk and striking out two.
Carter Studer earned the win, the first of his young career, with 1.2 hitless innings of relief.
Eight pitchers combined to limit George Fox to nine hits and two runs, with Studer,

Cooper Justice and
Colton Ouellette each contributing scoreless outings. Linfield's arms stranded 15 Bruins on base, working out of multiple jams.
The Bruins managed one run in the ninth, but Ouellette slammed the door with a strikeout and flyout to end the game.
