Wildcat Weekly: December 2, 2025

Linfield women's basketball hosts the lone event on campus following the short holiday break, a top-five showdown featuring the Wildcats who lead the Northwest Conference and the No. 3 UW-Oshkosh Titans who lead the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Men's basketball opens Northwest Conference play on the road at Pacific on Saturday, looking to bounce back from the California non-conference trip. Indoor track & field begins the season on Saturday morning, travelling to La Grande, Oregon, to compete in the meet hosted by Eastern Oregon University. Men's wrestling returns after a week off, heading to Oregon City, Oregon, for the Clackamas Open on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. 
 
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Linfield women's basketball (4-1) is set to host No. 3-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh this Friday inside Ted Wilson Gymnasium for their second ranked matchup of the season, previously falling to No. 21 East Texas Baptist on the road. The Wildcats come off of an impressive 27 point win over Pacific in their first Northwest Conference match-up of the season, led by senior guard Eve Burke who scoring 25 points in the game. Burke set a new career-high as well as a conference-best for the season, while all five starters eclipsed double-digit points in the game.
Linfield will continue the annual tradition of the Teddy Bear Toss at halftime of Friday's game, hosted by Phi Sigma Sigma. This event focuses on collecting gently used or new stuffed animals, which spectators are invited to throw onto the court during halftime. Immediately afterward, sorority members will collect the stuffed animals, which will be donated to Juliet's House, a child abuse intervention center.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Linfield men's basketball (1-5) opens Northwest Conference play on Saturday, taking on the Pacific Boxers on the road, the lone conference match-up in the middle of non-conference play. The Wildcats lean on senior guard Dayton Magaña, who has led the team in scoring in the majority of the first six games of the season. 
In the 91-81 overtime loss at Pomona-Pitzer, Magaña led the team with 21 points, while Garrett Callsen matched a career-high of 20 points, going 7-11 from the field in the game.

INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Linfield track & field begins the indoor portion of the season this weekend at Eastern Oregon, their only meet of 2025. The Wildcats pick back up at the turn of the calendar, competing in three indoor events in the second half of January, before two meets in February and the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the middle of March to close out the indoor portion of the season.

MEN'S WRESTLING
Linfield men's wrestling returns to action after a week off, taking on the Clackamas Open in Oregon City, Oregon. Ethan Ensrud highlighted the 'Cats last appearance at the Spokane Open, claiming the title for his weight class with five wins.
