McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield enjoyed mixed success in the swimming pool over a two-day stretch. On Saturday, the Wildcats swam a mixture of counting races and exhibition events. The Wildcat men defeated the Boxers 66-7 while the Linfield women topped Pacific 108-72. Friday night saw Puget Sound men take down Linfield by a score of 124-81. The Loggers and Wildcats finished in a tie on the women's side of the ledger, 101-101.

WOMEN VERSUS PUGET SOUND
Kirsti Keppo won the 1,000-yard freestyle by a 30-second margin (11:14.74), took top honors in the 200 freestyle (2:02.71), and swam to a resounding victory in the 500 freestyle 5:24.28), winning that event by nearly 15 seconds.

Caley Haydu and
Avery Campbell went 1-2 in the 50 freestyle with Haydu finishing in 25.59, just in front of Campbell at 25.85.

Sarah Arpag was a clear-cut winner in the 200 butterfly (2:16.64), outpacing teammate
Ellie Schmidt, who was runner-up in 2:40.37. Arpag also earned a five-second victory in the 200 backstroke (2:17.07).

Despite batting an eye infection,
Lauren Bobo-Shisler joined with Campbell, Haydu and
Chloe Lazaraton to win the 400 freestyle relay by more than five seconds (3:47.60).

MEN VERSUS PUGET SOUND
Kai Laitenen held off teammate
Jack Gallo to win the 1,000 freestyle in under two seconds, 10:17.39 to 10:19.38. Laitenen later claimed the top finish in the 200 individual medley in 2:01.65, and was the top performer in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.85).

Gallo and fellow Wildcat senior
Gavin Smith secured the top two positions in the 500 freestyle. Gallow clocked 5:00.21, five seconds faster than Smith's 5:05.72.

MEN VERSUS PACIFIC
Sam Postelwait clocked 22.82 to win the 50 freestyle while Smith edged Gallo in the 400 IM, 4:26.93 to 4:40.04.

In a close finish, Laitenen out-touched
Ivan Tontchev to win the 100 breaststroke, 1:01.55 to 1:01.66.

WOMEN VERUS PACIFIC
Lazaraton and Campbell were the top two finishers in the 1,650 freestyle. Lazaraton reached the wall in 19:28.88 while Campbell timed 20:15.05.

Bobo-Shisler turned in a winning effort in the 50 freestyle (25.76), winning by more than a full second. Schmidt prevailed in the 100 butterfly, nipping Pacific's Jaz Capron-Graves in a tight race, 1:08.56 to 1:08.96.

Arpag recorded a winning time in the 100 backstroke (1:01.65) while
Ruby Bentz was the fastest racer in the 500 freestyle (6:37.97).

The foursome of Mikayla Wilson, Lazaraton, Keppo and Arpag sewed up 11 team points in winning the 200 freestyle (1:50.45).

The Wildcats return home Saturday for Senior Day when they host Willamette at 1 p.m. at the Linfield Aquatics Center. Linfield's eight seniors will be honored by the coaching staff and prior to the day's first race.
