McMINNVILLE, Ore. – In an exciting home meet on Saturday afternoon, Linfield's swimming teams delivered impressive performances against Pacific Lutheran University, securing victories in both the men's and women's competitions.
MEN
The men's team triumphed with a dominant score of 114 points, outpacing PLU, which finished with 75 points.
Key performances include
Sam Postlewait, who anchored the 400-yard medley relay with a winning time of 3:40.76, and
Gavin Smith, who secured the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.49) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.10).
Jack Gallo also shined, winning the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.88) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:35.80). In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Linfield's two squads placed second and third with times of 3:24.69 and 3:27.75.
WOMEN
The Linfield women's team also claimed victory, finishing with 120 points, while PLU earned 70 points.
Key performances came from
Kirsti Keppo, who won the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:12.64) and the 500 freestyle (5:36.56). Linfield's 400 medley relay team, featuring
Chloe Lazaraton,
Alana Zumbrum,
Avery Campbell, and
Caley Haydu, clinched the top spot with a time of 4:24.38.
Sarah Arpag had yet another solid outing for the Wildcats, placing first in the 200 individual medley (2:16.90) and the 200 backstroke (2:16.73). She also took first in the 400 freestyle relay alongside Campbell, Lazaraton and
Annikka Fetro.
