The Wildcats' east coast road trip came to an end Sunday afternoon at the EMU Turf Field after a 2-0 defeat to Eastern Mennonite in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Sunday's match marked the end of non-conference play for Linfield, finishing 1-3 with the lone victory coming at Bushnell.
Linfield struggled to remain on the offensive for the majority of the match totaling just five shots compared to Eastern Mennonite's 19. Freshman midfielder
Oli Gaines led the attack with three of the five shots while
Cameron Gaines and
Radule Bozovic each put one shot on goal.
The Wildcats' defense was once again anchored by
Jacob Toves in goal, finishing the match with five saves, bringing his season total to 11.
For Linfield,
Johann Singh Sanchez,
Blake Tasci and
Jacob Toves played all 90 minutes of the match.
The Royals were led by Kane Kiernan and Carlos Ventura who both netted goals and Ventura finished with one assist.
