Linfield drops 2-0 decision to Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Wash. – Linfield struggled to overcome a strong Pacific Lutheran team, falling 2-0 in a Northwest Conference matchup Saturday afternoon at East Field.

The Lutes (2-1-3, 1-0-1 NWC) applied pressure from the start, outshooting Linfield 9-4 in the match. Pacific Lutheran opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Ally Tattar converted a cross from Hannah Cecil to give the Lutes a 1-0 lead.

The Wildcats (2-3-2, 1-3 NWC) struggled to generate consistent offensive opportunities, with Jordan Stoner leading the effort with two shots. Rae Gerking and Julia Alvarez each added a shot, but Pacific Lutheran's defense, backed by goalkeeper Abby Winkler, held firm.

Pacific Lutheran added a second goal in the 71st minute when Julia Causbie took advantage of an offensive push to put the game out of reach.

Linfield goalkeeper Alexa Fritz recorded three saves to keep the Wildcats within striking distance for most of the match, but the offense couldn't break through.
