TACOMA, Wash. - After scoring just two goals in the past four games, The Wildcats kick-started their offense Saturday afternoon, scoring their second and third goals in conference play but faltered on defense, losing 3-2 to Puget Sound at Baker stadium.
Linfield struggled to settle into the pace of the game in the first half, falling behind 2-0 in the first 18 minutes. The Wildcats then opened the second-half aggressive and hungry for some offense. That offense came at the foot of
E.J. Sablan who streaked in a goal off an assist from
Sid Kosaris. Puget Sound would later find another goal before
E.J. Sablan again put the pressure on the Loggers, drawing a penalty kick in the final 10 minutes of the match.
To go along with Sablan's two goals, Linfield saw contribution from
Reece Gaines with two shots and
Cameron Gaines,
Radule Bozovic,
Sid Kosaris and
Keegan Brooks each adding a shot of their own.
Colby Reese spent all 90 minutes as the Linfield goalkeeper and recorded three saves in the match, bringing his season total to 13.
Responsible for Puget Sound's goals were Rhys Foote, Jackson Smith and Etienne Polak. Goalkeeper Ryan Saunders finished with three saves.
