McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield was held to its lowest goal total on the season in a 23-3 Northwest Conference loss to George Fox at the Linfield Lacrosse Complex on Wednesday evening.
Mackenzie Kulick led the 'Cats offense with two goals while
Gabby Crist added the other.
Savannah Irwin,
Leah Stednick and Crist each totaled an assist.
Madison De La Trinidad scooped up three ground balls while
Star Pfleiger caused two turnovers.
Tenley Hodge totaled 12 saves.
Marena Tharpe paced the Bruins offense with five goals with teammate Ava Bluhm close behind with four. Three George Fox players tied with three goals. Lana Davis and Tharpe tied for the team lead with three assists. Carleigh DeLapp racked up five ground balls. In goal, Emma Webb finished with four saves. George Fox (12-3, 11-0 NWC) outshot Linfield 40-8.
The Bruins surged to a massive first-quarter lead. George Fox scored eight unanswered in the first frame to take an early 8-0 lead. The Bruins added five more in the second quarter while the Wildcats netted their first as the visitors held a 13-1 halftime lead.
George Fox added four more goals to its total in the third quarter before adding six more in the final period. Linfield added one goal in each of the third and fourth quarters.
