SALEM, Ore. –
Jackson Dupree filled the stat sheet with 14 points and 12 rebounds but Willamette topped Linfield 83-60 on Friday night at Cone Field House.
Jack Greenwood and
Cade Collins finished with nine points each.
Nick Tripaldi added eight points off the bench. Linfield shot 34 percent on 66 attempts and knocked down 7-24 shots from behind the arc.
Josiah Frank led all scorers with 19 points followed closely by Caleb Moore with 16 points. Jack Boydell (12) and Gavin Rippere (10) also finished in double figures for the Bearcats. Willamette shot 51 percent on 58 shot attempts and made 5-13 three-point attempts. The Bearcats outscored the Wildcats 42-28 in the paint and 45-18 in bench points.
Willamette grabbed a 36-27 halftime lead, powered by 50 percent shooting from the field compared to Linfield's 30 percent. Collins led the Wildcats with nine points after the first 20 minutes while Frank led the Bearcats with eight.
The Bearcats' lead continued to grow in the second half, leading by 20 or more on multiple occasions. Willamette outscored Linfield 47-33 in the second half and cruised to the comfortable 23-point victory.
