Linfield readies for Willamette, Puget Sound

THE RECORDS
Linfield moved to 7-4 after beating Corban and Northwest to conclude 2023. The Wildcats 2-0 start in Northwest Conference play is their best start in conference since the 2005-06 season. The 'Cats now ready for conference play as they travel to Willamette (1) on Friday and welcome Puget Sound (8-3, 2-0 NWC) on Saturday.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats sit fourth in the NWC in points per game at 62.7. Gillyan Landis (13.5) leads the 'Cats in scoring with Eve Burke (9.7) the next closest. Miki Vermeulen ranks second in the conference in rebounds per game at 9.2 while Burke also ranks inside the top five at 7.1. Ella Koebelin leads the team in assists per game, averaging 2.8 and also leads in three-point percentage at 31. Landis (.485) and freshman Allison Mead (.472) rank among the leaders in field goal percentage. Defensively, the 'Cats hold opponents to 23 percent shooting from behind the arc.
 
WILLAMETTE AT A GLANCE
The Bearcats average 63.5 points per contest. Willamette shoots just over 40 percent as a team while allowing opponents to shoot over 40 percent. Elyse Waldal (13.6), Kaitlin Imai (10.4) and Carolyn Ho (9.8) all rank inside the top 15 of the NWC in points per game. Ashley Collins leads the team in field goal percentage at 56. Defensively, Ho ranks second in the conference in steals per game with 2.6.

Three Loggers sit inside the top 10 of the conference in average points per game. Kennedy Brown (13.9), Paige Gerhart (12.8) and Jordyn Reverman (12) all lead the charge for Puget Sound. Autumn Hill leads Puget Sound in rebounding (6.7) and field goal percentage (.526). Gerhart ranks second in the conference in assists per game at 4.1.
