NEWBERG, Ore. – Linfield never led in an 86-77 loss to county rival George Fox on Wednesday evening at the Wheeler Sports Center.
Garrett Callsen tallied his second career double-double with a 19-point and 10-rebound effort.
Joshua Ryan scored 17 points off the bench while
Jack Greenwood chipped in 11 points.
Jackson Dupree also nearly finished with a double-double turning in a nine-point and 13-rebound performance. Linfield shot 45 percent on 66 attempts and knocked down 5-19 shots from behind the arc. The 'Cats (5-11, 0-7 NWC) finished with a 46-32 points in the paint advantage.
Aiden Price led the Bruins with 17 points. Samuel Stewart IV and Momo Stokes finished with 16 points each. The Bruins had a total of five players finish in double figures. George Fox (12-4, 5-2 NWC) shot 43 percent on 64 attempts and made 9-23 threes.
Both squads started at a blistering scoring pace in the opening minutes. The Bruins went on a 16-5 scoring run to open up their first double-digit lead and hold it late into the half. Linfield responded in the closing minutes and trimmed the Fox lead down to 40-36 at halftime. Ryan and Callsen combined for 25 of the 36 points.
The 'Cats pulled within one on multiple occasions in the second half but could never pull ahead. In the final seven minutes, the Bruins closed the game on a 23-17 scoring run to fend off the Wildcats.
