McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Whitman (3-5-1, 3-2-0) scored twice in the first half and never looked back, beating the Linfield 3-0 at the Linfield Soccer Complex in McMinnville on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats finished with five shots, one on goal, nine corner kicks and 15 fouls.
Colby Reese recorded three saves and
Cameron Gaines led the offense with one shot on goal.

Keegan Brooks and
Ross Vargo played all 90 minutes for the Linfield back line. Brooks received a yellow card for Linfield while Zachary Stonier also drew a caution for Whitman.
Whitman was more aggressive in the first half outshooting Linfield 7-1 and ultimately scored goals in the 26th and 38th minutes.
Linfield was again outshot in the second half 8-4 and the Blues striker Edwin Romero increased the advantage to three with an unassisted goal in the 87th minute.
The Blues finished with 15 shots, six on goal, four corner kicks and 11 fouls. Whitman's goalkeeper Bernie Jones did not record a save until the last 10 minutes. Jacob Burrill and Lucas McAllister scored the goals for Whitman in the first half.
