REDLANDS, Calif. – The Linfield (1-0-1) offense was flying high on Sunday morning at Farquhar Field in Redlands, Calif. The Wildcats overpowered the Redlands (0-2-0) defense putting together a masterclass attack. The 'Cats topped the Bulldogs 6-0 which marks the biggest win and most goals scored since 2007 over an NCAA opponent.
The Wildcats led in total shots 24-16 including a 14-4 first-half margin. Linfield finished with an 11-1 lead in corner kicks.
Janae Lewis and
Anna Dazey got the offense started in the first half as the duo combined for the first two Wildcats goals. Dazey went on to score the next two Linfield goals with one being assisted by freshman
Jocelyn Jacobs.
Only a few minutes after the last Dazey goal,
Lea Micko found
Jordan Stoner for the fifth goal on the day for the 'Cats.
Bella Hanna's goal in the 79th minute put the finishing touches on a dominating six-goal performance.
Alexa Fritz was tested with nine shots from Redlands coming her way but managed to hold a clean sheet.
Redlands' Jaiden Riodil and Natalie Turiace tested the Linfield back line with a combined five shots and four counting on goal.

The Wildcats return to the Linfield Soccer and Lacrosse Complex on Friday, Sept. 8 for the home opener against North Central. Linfield then returns to the field on Saturday, Sept. 9 in a match against La Verne. Before opening Northwest Conference play against Willamette on Sept. 13.
