NEWBERG, Ore. – Linfield is still looking to find success on the road this season. The Wildcats (5-7, 1-4) fell in straight sets to county rival George Fox (8-4, 4-1) at the Wheeler Sports Center in Newberg on Friday evening 21-25, 15-15, 20-25.
Linfield combined for 30 kills, on a .088 hitting percentage, 28 assists, 51 digs and five serving aces.
Katelin Sindelar led the Wildcats with eight kills and
Nora Myre led the defense with 17 digs.
Claire Johnson finished with 19 assists and led the team with a .313 hitting percentage.
The Wildcats held a lead for most of the first set but two separate 5-0 runs from the Bruins pulled the home side ahead for the first set win. George Fox used an 8-1 run to pull away late in the second frame to claim the second set.
The Bruins led wire-to-wire in the third set and closed the match with 12 kills to finish with double digit kills in every set.
George Fox finished with 37 kills, on a .195 hitting percentage, 33 assists, 52 digs and six serving aces. Kassandra Staton led the Bruins offense with 10 kills while Piper Harrop led the defense with a game-high 19 digs.
