McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield bounced back with a big win over Pacific on Saturday evening in Ted Wilson Gymnasium in McMinnville. The Wildcats (6-7, 2-4) tallied double-digit kills in every set and finished with the most kills (42) in three sets on the season beating the Boxers (5-10, 1-5) 25-19, 25-14, 25-22. The straight-set victory is the first sweep of a Northwest Conference opponent since Sept. 15, 2017 when the 'Cats topped Willamette.
The Wildcats combined for 42 kills, on a .280 hitting percentage, 49 digs, 40 assists, seven serving aces and six blocks.
Katelin Sindelar led the team in kills with 13 while
Araeya Watanabe was close behind with seven.
Nora Myre led the defense with 14 digs and
Claire Johnson accounted for 31 assists.
Linfield dominated the opening set behind 15 kills and a .314 hitting percentage. The Wildcats couldn't be stopped in the second set posting the same .314 hitting percentage and totaling 15 more set kills.
The Wildcats closed the match with 12 more set kills and totaling four combined blocks.
The Boxers totaled 29 kills, on a .111 hitting percentage, 44 digs, 29 assists and four serving aces. Mara Murphy led the offense with nine kills. Emily Cheavtharn finished with 24 assists and Claire Stipsits accounted for 12 digs.
