McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Pacific Lutheran beat Linfield 3-0 at the Linfield Soccer Complex in McMinnville on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats (3-2-2, 1-2-1) held tough with the visiting Lutes but two goals in the last 12 minutes sealed the game for Pacific Lutheran (3-3-1, 3-1-0).
The Wildcats finished with five shots, four on goal, two corner kicks and five fouls.
Kami Echiverri and
Anna Dazey combined for the two Linfield shots on goal.
Emilee Miller tallied three saves.
Reese Jones,
Mia Curtaz,
Jenna Stanley and
Kathryn Pearson all clocked a full 90 minutes for Linfield.
Julia Causbie netted the first goal in the 18th minute unassisted to give the Lutes and early advantage.
The Wildcats put the most pressure on Lutes goalie Abby Winkler in the first half with all four of her saves coming in the opening period.
Fatigue might have set in for the 'Cats toward the end of the match. Alyssa Leong and Meghan Michels scored two more times to cement a Lutes road win.
The Lutes finished with 17 shots, six on goal, six corner kicks and 12 fouls.
